The 2016-17 school year has officially started, and now is the prefect time for you to get involved with the school and the PTA! If you would like to join the PTA, please fill out this form (Spanish version here) and send it to us - we would be very excited to have you! If you would rather just volunteer some of your time to help out, we would love that as well! Click here to learn how to use our VolunteerSpot page to jump in!
Also - don't forget about our monthly recurring events -
Birthday Book Club
The first Wednesday of each month, students with birthdays in that month are invited to come during lunch to select a birthday book as a gift from the WCE PTA! Any student who did NOT pick a book during their birthday month may also do so during any following month.
On Goody Fridays, students in each grade honor teachers, staff, and support staff with special goodies to be shared that morning and afternoon!
The Paperback Book Exchange
As part of the Environmental Ed Committee, students are welcome to bring in paperback books they have finished reading (1st grade level and up) to exchange for other books! (Please - no hardcover, magazines, coloring books, or puzzle books.) On the third Wednesday of each month, a student helper collects the books and gives out coupons to redeem during the lunch period that day.
PTA meetings are generally held on the second Thursday of each month in the LRC from 6:30 - 7:30 pm. Each month, the principal and teacher representatives share classroom, school, and district wide news. PTA representatives also share information about upcoming events.
If you are new to Winston Campus Elementary, Rec Night is a monthly outing for parents and WCE students to be active and have fun while participating in team-building activities, relays, etc. Rec Nights are held monthly beginning in October - March on Thursdays from 7 - 8 pm in the junior high gym (near the cafeteria) and broken down by grade (K-3 or 4-6th).
